What it is

A full map sheet, not a screenshot

TLM 50-style 1:50,000

Classic topographic sheet layout: UTM grid, graticule ticks, adjoining-sheet diagram, magnetic declination for the date, elevation guide and full legend.

Fully vector

Every line and letter is vector in the PDF and SVG, so it prints sharp at any size. A PNG preview comes with it.

Automatic label placement

Hundreds of names placed at once with no overlaps: curved along rivers and roads, checked by built-in quality control.

Official public data

U.S. Census TIGER/Line, USGS 3DEP elevation, NHD and GNIS, MRLC land cover, NOAA magnetic model, plus OpenStreetMap power lines.

How it works

From a click to a finished sheet

  1. Locate. Your point is matched to its 15′ quad and given a sheet number (GK50-LLOOO-RC), UTM zone and adjoining sheets.
  2. Fetch. Official public data for the quad is downloaded politely and cached: roads, water, elevation, names, land cover.
  3. Generalise. Roads are simplified for 1:50,000, contours traced at an interval chosen from the relief, declination computed for today.
  4. Label. The Rust engine places every name at once, avoiding overlaps, then runs quality checks.
  5. Render. A vector PDF and SVG plus a PNG preview, with full margin information.

Built in the open

The engine is rustgis-label (MIT OR Apache-2.0): Rust label placement and rendering with Python data preparation. Need sheets for your area, a different scale or your own data on the map? Book a call.
