About

Christopher Knight

GIS & Data Engineer · Founder, GeoKnight GIS · Jacksonville, Florida

I build tested spatial data pipelines, parcel databases and custom GIS web applications: interactive web maps, dashboards and map-based tools. GeoKnight GIS turns public and client data into parcel dashboards, market-analysis maps and enriched Florida parcel records for real estate investors, insurers and inspectors, and engineering firms and Esri users.

Before founding GeoKnight GIS I spent 23+ years building and validating authoritative spatial data, including as a GS-13 Geographer at the U.S. Army Geospatial Center, managing enterprise ArcGIS for 1,500+ users, and supporting NOAA hydrographic surveys. Today I work in Python, SQL, PostGIS, DuckDB and dbt, with automated geometry validation, deduplication and QC traceability.

How I work

  • Accuracy first: every number traceable to its source.
  • Transparency: every change logged, nothing applied silently.
  • Respect for your data: kept private, never resold, deleted on request.
  • Handoff: you own the deliverables and can rerun the work.

Markets

Real estate & investors

Parcel dashboards, sales and assessor joins, and market-analysis maps to screen properties and neighborhoods.

Insurers & inspectors

Florida parcels enriched with roof-permit dates and FEMA flood zones, delivered as estimates for screening. Not a roof inspection, flood determination or underwriting decision; public-record data is delivered as is, and records exempt from public disclosure are excluded.

Engineering & Esri users

GIS web app and data pipeline work as a subcontractor, delivered to your standards at a project rate.
